اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ

صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنعَمتَ عَلَيهِمْ غَيرِ المَغضُوبِ عَلَيهِمْ وَلاَ الضَّالِّينَ

 

وَمَن يُطِعِ اللَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ وَحَسُنَ أُولَٰئِكَ رَفِيقًا

 

The first two verses are recited at least 17 times a day by all practicing Muslims around the world, seeking to steer their life in the way of the ideal servants of Allah who have successfully overcome challenges in their life.

The third verse mentions the Nabiiyyin, Siddiiqiin, Shuhada’ and Saalihiin. These are the chosen servants of Allah, the ideal ones, believers of the highest order. People of the coveted ranks. Their way is the straight path, the As-Siratul Mustaqim that we plead Allah to grant us the privilege of walking upon it to attain eternal happiness.

In this ‘metaseries’ of lectures, we will delve into these icons of humanity. They are excellent embodiment of servitude to their creator and at the same time, made a lasting impact on the lives of others around them. Being symbolic figures who have pushed the boundaries of knowledge and practice to the highest degree, their legacies, contributions, and achievements continues to aspire, shine and guide others to the blessed purposeful life path that Allah S.W.T created for all, leaving only their exemplary lasting legacy for us and our future generations.

 

By the grace of Allah, we have covered the lives of the four great imams in the previous series. This time, we will take a step back and venture into the topics about the creations of Allah that are profound in the history of humanity itself. Indeed, they are not alien to our lives and being icons themselves, they represent a set of traits and archetypes that we should know of.
