Diploma in Shariah Studies

THE DIPLOMA IN SYARIAH STUDIES IS A 48-MONTH DIPLOMA PROGRAM BY AL-MISBAH ACADEMY IN COLLABORATION WITH INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC COLLAGE MALAYSIA, DEDICATED TO COVER ISLAMIC JURISPRUDENCE SCIENCES.

It is tailored for students of Islamic knowledge who are qualified with certificate of Islamic studies from reputable local institutions such as Zuhri, Pergas, Perdaus and other equally recognized institutions. The course will provide an holistic knowledge on Islamic Jurisprudence through part-time study with qualified & recognized Azatizah such as Uztaz Mohamed Khalid Bin Rafi, Uztazah Shameem Sultanah, Uztaz Muhammad Ameen Bin P.M, Uztaz Luqman Hakim Bin Roslan, Uztazah Siti Az-zahroh binte Effendi and many others.

The 48-month course forms the diploma level of Al-Misbah Academy's Structured Islamic Syariah Programme. Students who successfully complete all modules of diploma in Syariah Studies (including written assignments and examinations) will be awarded the Certification in Syariah Studies recognized by the International Islamic University Of Malaysia.

*Please note, students who are residing in Singapore will need to attend one lesson onsite once a month.

Entry Requirements:

  • Must be 16 years old or older

  • 3 GCE O-Levels

  • Able to understand and converse in English

  • Additional cetification would be an added advantage: Certificate in Islamic Studies (eg. Pergas, Zuhri, Perdaus or other similar institutions)

​ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

  • Each module will require students to participate in a final examination.

  • Each module will also have other components such as group/individual assignments/presentations which students will need to complete.

  • The assessment criteria varies from module to module and more information will be revealed during the module lessons itself.

TEACHING DELIVERIES: CORE SUBJECT

All students of the Programme will come together for the compulsory lectures held on every Sunday. These are the core lectures and will take place during the term-time of the Programme. They provide the core information that you will discuss with your respective lecturers during the sessions .

COURSE STRUCTURE

The programme is delivered through a series of modules and lectures. It consists of eight mandatory modules, covering the Arabic language extensively, as well as Tajweed, Hadith, Quranic Studies, and the Principles of Islamic Sciences which underpin these disciplines.

Students will have the opportunity to apply their studies through peer interaction. They will also interact with their seniors, who will mentor them and deepen their understanding of the materials covered in the classroom, taught by a wide variety of scholars.

COURSE COVERAGE

  • Exposure to the Arabic vocabulary, grammar and phrases 

  • Basic structured Arabic language morphology (how different elements relate to each other and how their relations affect meaning)

  • Application of grammatical rules and syntax (nahw & sarf)

  • Understanding of Arabic sentence construction

QUALIFICATION

DIPLOMA IN SYARIAH STUDIES 

The Diploma in Syariah Studies is awarded upon satisfactory completion of all modules at Al-Misbah Academy.

A student’s aptitude is tested throughout the year by a series of examinations and assignments designed to prepare the students for their final examination at the end of the module. The outcome of these exams will form the substance of the certification.

Students who decide to exit the Syariah Studies Programme at the end of this stage will not be issued any certification nor transcript.
