About the Event

Al-Misbah Academy Presents 'Secularism and the Muslim's Identity: Challenges and Prospects". This month's Thought Provoking Series will be conducted by Dr Walid Jumblatt Abdullah. He is an Assistant Professor at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. He works on state-Islam relations and has published in International Political Science Review, Government and Opposition, Journal of Church and State, and Asian Survey, amongst others.

In this session, Dr Walid will be defining secularism and its models, explore secularism and discuss more on the Muslim Identity in the Singapore's context as well as the challenges Muslims in Singapore face to navigate through secularism and fulfilling the obligations as the practicing Muslim identity.
