IN COLLABORATION WITH UNIVERSITY MALAYA, AL-MISBAH ACADEMY IS OFFERING A CERTIFICATE IN ARABIC STUDIES

It is designed for those who are keen to achieve general competency in Arabic studies. It is intended for those who can only devote part of their time to these subjects in Arabic language, the course will develop skills in reading, speaking and writing Arabic. It will include a wide range of literary and non-literary reading matter to improve essential comprehension skills. Students will be trained to write good prose in Standard Arabic, i.e. prose that is clear and correct in its expression of thought and argument. The course will cover the rules of grammar and syntax (nahw and sarf). By the end of the course, students should be able to understand how sentences are constructed in Arabic, how the different elements relate to each other, and how their relations affect meaning. They should be able, also, to apply this understanding to analyse passages of classical Arabic prose.

Lesson notes will be prepared and taught by experienced Lecturers. This course will give an interesting experience to its participants. Participants will be able to understand and grasp the Arabic language and gain Islamic knowledge.

Objective

  • Students should be able to understand how sentence are constructed in Arabic
     

  • Students should be able to differentiate the different element related to each other and how the relation affects the meaning 
     

  • Students should be able to apply this understanding to analyse passages of Classical Arabic prose

Assessment Criteria

Continuous Assessment: 50%

Examinations: 50%

 

Examinations will be conducted at the end of every stage.

Course Structure

The programme is delivered through various interactive lessons introducing Arabic grammar, vocabulary, and culture through reading, writing, listening, and role play.

 Contents covered:

  • Proficiency in writing, listening and speech pertaining to daily activities 

  • Basic structured Arabic language morphology.

  • students will learn how to apply the rules of grammar

  • Students will be exposed to the vocabulary, grammar and Arabic phrases 

Qualification

Students who completed each level will received a Certification of Completion.
